Hot pepper
the hot pepper it is the fruit cavity of a herbaceous plant that receives the same name. It belongs to the Solanaceae family and, in particular, to the genre Pepper. Nightshades are a family that includes about 75 genera and some 2,300 species of plants.
Health benefits:
- The main component of the pepper is water, followed by carbohydrates, which makes it a vegetable with a low caloric intake.
- It is a good source of fiber and, like the rest of the vegetables, its protein content is very low and just brings fats.
- In terms of its content of vitamins, the hot pepper is very rich in vitamin C. In fact, they contain more than twice of that found in fruits such as oranges or strawberries.
- They are good source of carotenes, including the capsanthin, pigment with antioxidant properties that provides the characteristic red color to some bell peppers.
- Also noteworthy is its content of provitamin A.
